The ill practice of child labour assisted in the increase of cocoa production in the world. Food company Nestle allegedly purchased “black cocoa” from Ghana, which was harvested by children. In response to this controversy I have deconstructed wooden pellets and reconstructed them into 1:14 scale of Nestle’s most popular confectionery. While pallets are a worldwide symbol of product shipment, chocolate is thus a reminder of childhood sweetness and innocence. However, children either lose or gain these traits while child labour continues with corporate support.
