just zip your recorded material together.

for visual artists:

you can kick it off by uploading your catalogue.
digital catalogue? set price to zero to make it a free download.
printed catalogue? an art catalogue is a beautiful thing to own; they feel like fogged-glass; tiptoes; turning a corner in a new city; good conversation.
let it be available to friends, fans and buyers worldwide.

you may well have original work/prints work in mind you'd like to list on the store; and you very likely have people that want to support you. [that's us too].
most of the time, it's just tricky for people to know exactly how.
if the above resonates, throw it up [carefully, bubble-wrapped].

if you don't yet have new work to load, you may well have good quality work from the past that you'd like to sell.
prints, collages, sketch collections [sell a whole booklet], A2/3/4 unsold exhibition work, etc.

lastly: invite your other visual artist friends; help us make buying from artists accessible, frictionless and normalized.

• your contact number is sent to buyers once payment clears.

finances

REVENUE SHARE | 10.5%
in addition to a 10.5% commission that we collect, payment processor fees apply to all transactions processed on your account. here's the detail:

PROCESSING COST | 8.5%
when purchasing an item from your store, the costs incurred by secure-payments processors, banking artist-payout fees and the hosting of payment gateways per-sale, all add to an 8.5% average.

COMPARE
a well-known, in many ways similar, international alternative charges a total of 21.4% to musicians/artists on their platform for the majority of sales. comparing our figures to this well-known band-platform, casualsex.store is about 2.4% more profit-bearing for the artist, while also providing a totally integrated artist-service, accessible to south africans + displaying in any user's currency, including ZAR. to be besting the rates of international companies roughly 500,000 times bigger than us, is a decent start. is this a boast? maybe.

AND THEN?
a sizeable portion of the store's 10.5% portion will go toward projects, ads + content central to the artists on the store; closing the circle within the south african economy. a dedicated amount is reserved for amplifying artists without the same access and means. the rest goes to the myriad of south african companies, services + staff-time that support what we want to achieve on a technical level.

artist-payouts are processed monthly.
if you, an artist, are currently reporting merch/album/art sales to your label/studio after a period of sales, we can also dramatically speed up and automate that process for you, while decreasing the work done by your label/studio.

if you run a label/studio, get in touch with us here .
if you are an artist/collective, open your store here .

we will begin processing payouts on around the 19th each month; so that it lands in artists' accounts at the time in the month it is likely most needed.

each artist [or collective] has all relevant financial details for the period of sales, live-updating constantly in their dashboards, per sale. the payout will come from the casualsex.store FNB business account.

yes, we have the word 'sex' on a bank card.
ensure your payment details are up-to-date and correct in your profile.
while we will do our best to cater to mishaps, casualsex.store will not be accountable for errors within the artist's responsibility.

we absolutely love payout time each month.
you'll see the insta logo go blue. feel free to tag us if you celebrate - normalize getting paid for the arts.

casualsex.store does not hold any rights to your music, art or items.
it's all yours, and will remain so.

if you have contracts in place with labels/studios regarding your digital music/albums/art, chat to them about listing them on casualsex.store:
you [and by extension, they] will simply sell more of your music/wares, and be more visible.

using the platform, the system by which every artist on a label has to report amounts post-sale to the label is far easier, and more efficient. in any case, if the label has cool merch, they should just open up a store too! [under the category 'collective | label'].

while multiple artists are able to list the same payment details for monthly payout, each artist store must have a unique email verified with the store.

how delivery works

so make sure you use a mail you see often - we don't spam, ever.
