Performance piece, 'Lilith & Lesbet Trou', by Nicolene Burger & Mandri Sutherland
"This performance investigation deals with a vital (and sometimes suffocating) step into adulthood required by our Afrikaner community: getting married.
Both of us are performing through the rituals, ceremony and practices associated with White Afrikaner weddings as a way to destabilize the ties to personal value, financial security, monogamy and initiation this public act implies."
