This print is a digitally scanned version of an original drawing, which formed part of my application to Michaelis: School of Fine Arts in 2015. One of the requirements for the entrance portfolio was to do a still-life, and at the time I didn't have much experience in many different mediums, so I sat under the lapa, chose my van sneaker as my subject, and got drawing with some graphite pencils.
I had customised my vans while in high-school by painting a blue and gold cherry blossom tree motif on them, so I felt the idea to draw the tree parts of the shoe coming out of the painted design was a unique touch to the life-drawing.
This little print would be great for decor, or to be used as a postcard. This drawing holds a special little place in my heart, so I hope it will form a unique part in your collection or home, too.
